Silly Stories

Sometimes I just need to laugh. Thank goodness I have a hilarious little boy and 850 students at school to make jokes for me.

Today Landon was brushing my hair away from my face. He says, "Nice hair, mommy". The he looked at me again with a puzzled expression and said, "Big head, mommy!". I'm not sure what I did to deserve that, but he's right, I do have a large noggin.

Also today, a little girl in my kindergarten class raised her hand and proudly stated, "Teacher! I found a booger. It's green." Thank you, little one, for spotting the nasty mucous and saving your fellow classmates from probable exposure.

As I'm writing this post, Landon says, "Mom, give me more, psycho man." What???

Landon calls the phone game Fruit Ninja, "Foot" Ninja.

He also calls knives "wives". That's fun when he's eating breakfast and says, "Mommy, I need to go get my wives." Oh yeah, Landon? How many are you bringing to breakfast today?

Here's a cute little video about it. Ignore my low man voice, I'm recovering from an allergic reaction.

Have a beautiful day and find something to laugh about!

Home Wrecker

I love my little guy. I really do. But I don't, however, love what he does to our house. The Tasmanian Devil has nothin' on this kid.

Just when you think he's innocently playing, he's halfway up the ladder following the air conditioning guy up the roof.

Or say you thought he was sleeping peacefully in his room, only to find him up on the bookcase coloring with permanent marker on the custom shelves.

Remember when he was too short to reach your purse hanging on the hook about five feet up? He got a chair and stole his mom's purse, stuffing every piece of gum he could find in his mouth.

And what about that time that grandma was having a business meeting and Landon snuck out the front door, running down the street when the neighbor found him and brought him back? Apparently he was going to play at his cousin Joey's house ten minutes away (by car).

Let's just hope that this behavior won't continue into his teenage years.

Landon's own concoction of oil, coconut oil and wheat. Still hasn't come out of the grout.

Dresses himself

Found this in Uncle Aaron's closet - saw and razorblades during naptime.

Mom's lipstick. He loves to look pretty.

Love you, ya little home wrecker.

Workin' It Out

So those of you who know me well know that I DESPISE working out. I'm allergic to running, I can't do a push-up and sit-ups hurt my back. However I was recently inspired by some friends to change my exercise habit (or lack of one) and so I set up a plan with my mom.

I thought if I posted about it, I would be more motivated to continue with my goals. I'm fine with my weight but I basically don't have muscles. At all. Which is funny because I chase Landon around all day and I constantly pick up his 35 lb. body.

So here are my measurements right now (this is kind of nerve-wracking to share those with everyone...whatever, here goes):

Hips: 36.5 in.
Thighs: (Left) 21.5 in. (Right) 20.25 in.
Arms: (Left) 9.5 in. (Right) 9.25 in.
Waist: 27 in.
Bust: 31.5 in.

The goal is to measure every two weeks and workout for at least 8 weeks and see what happens!

Ready to kick some butt :)

This picture makes me laugh!

So I'm going to get my arms buff and my hips in shape and I would love some abs :) We are doing Zumba, belly dancing, yoga, and pilates Monday through Friday.

Wish me luck and join me if you want!!

Fall

Fall is my FAVORITE season of the year, by a long shot. I adore monsoon season in Arizona, I love it when I can actually go outside withOUT my skin melting off, and I love the leaves. Most of all, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

Landon likes it too, but only because he gets to use the leaf blower/vacuum to suck the leaves up. He loves to help.

What a helper!

Happy Fall and Happy Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin Patch

Last year, we took Landon to a pumpkin patch for the first time and he loved it. The post is here.

It's fun to see how much he's grown!

We went to one in Gilbert that was cute, but I think he had more fun at the one last year.

He LOVES tractors!

Do you have any favorite fall traditions??

Just A Spoonful of Sugar

I recently saw this meme online and it goes perfectly with this post!

ANYway...

Aaron graciously accepted (kind of) my invitation to dress up with me as Burt and Mary Poppins. He played the part perfectly and we got so many compliments! We even won a costume contest and were nominated for another. So without further ado...

Aaron's chimney sweep was a broom spray painted black and fluffed

Bethany was a hippie, Aaron was shocked.

Mom was a painter - she won a prize too (thanks to me! I dressed her up)

Thanks for reading, Happy Halloween!!

Pumpkin Carving

Landon is the funniest person I know, hands down.

Check it:

He looked in the pumpkin and when he looked back at me, he was so surprised! I don't know what he saw in there, but it was startling.

This is what we came up with our carving skillz:

Aaron's pumpking - Oppan Gangam Style (looks more like E.T.)

This is what I was going for...

This is what actually happened....

Because I got hungry and done with carving after 15 minutes.

One Year Older, and Wiser Too

For Aaron's birthday, I took him and his friend Bethany to Huntington Beach, California to play at the beach. We had lots of fun going to Downtown Disney, Six Flags, the beach, and shopping. Here are a few pictures from that:

What is Aaron doing??

Trying on hats

At the Lego store with the Hulk!

I love Buddy and Woody

Then it was my birthday on October 12...I turned 27! That feels so old. I went to breakfast with mom, Aaron, and Landon, read a book, got a free bagel from Einstein's, and went to a dance/birthday party for another girl. Haha. It was a pretty good birthday.

Chores

Landon's Grandma Kristine is a whiz at chore charts. She made one for her kids by taking pictures of them doing the actual chore so if they were more visual learners, they could still understand what to do. Since Landon can't read I thought a picture chore chart would help him out as well.

Feed the cats (they always have food now!)

Brusha, brusha, brusha...

Shower (cheesy grin)

Read books

Clean up toys. Isn't he adorable with that baby?

Put his dishes in the dishwasher.

Put away laundry.

Landon is a happy helper and sometimes he motivates me to clean up!

Isn't he growing so much? He's over 30 pounds, tall enough to reach the lights without stretching, tall enough to unlock AND open the front door and escape, and faster than a speeding bullet.

He is a great snuggler and loves to be rocked to sleep. The other night I was putting him to bed and kissed his cheek. He said, "Tank you, mommy". Sweetheart.

We are potty training him right now, which is an adventure to say the least. All amount of bribery will not convince him to poop on the potty. But he's got peeing down.

His favorite things to do are play in the sand, ride bikes, go "bye-bye" somewhere in the car, and read books. He always has a "sword" (vacuum cleaner attachment) or a "gun" (plastic pipe) tucked into the side of his pants, or his holster. He does something funny every day and makes me laugh!
