Love Affair with doTERRA

What is doTERRA and why do I love it?

doTERRA is a company that makes and sells pure therapeutic grade essential oils. I used to buy essential oils at the health food store. I thought they were pure oils, without any additives or dyes. I have since learned that if the bottle doesn't say CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade), it is unsafe to ingest, and sometimes to use topically. For instance, a friend's daughter got a burn on her hand. Lavender is great for burns, so she put some on that she got at the health food store. It burned her daughter more because the company had put alcohol in it.

doTERRA's oil is great because you can ingest it and use it topically and aromatically with no problems. I use at least one oil every day, usually more than that.

Here are a bunch of true miracles that have happened thanks to doTERRA:

Fevers: Landon had a fever and he was throwing up terribly one night. I got out peppermint oil, mixed it with a little bit of coconut oil, and put it on the soles of his feet and his back and his tummy. I mixed a little with water and had him drink it. Then I put some lavender  on his back and the bottom's of his feet. His fever disappeared within the hour and he stopped vomiting and went to sleep.

My friend's little boy got the same thing the next day and I gave her the peppermint oil to try - same results.

Toothache: My mom hasn't had a dentist appointment in a long time. Some work that the dentist did failed and she had a horrible toothache for months and months. Her friend gave her a doTERRA blend called OnGuard and she put it on her tooth every day and had no pain.

Acne: Once a month I tend to break out really bad. I got a blend by doTERRA called ClearSkin and my skin has stopped breaking out. I love this stuff!

Sore Muscles: I went shooting for my first time about two months ago. We used rifles and the kickback was pretty strong. I was sore after an hour and I put a cream called Deep Blue Rub on my shoulder. When I woke up the next morning, I could move my arm fine and it wasn't throbbing like the night before.

Sinus Infections: About a month ago, our family came to visit my mom. While I was here, I got really sick because of the cat hair and dust. I sneezed and coughed and I couldn't sleep because I was so stuffed up. My snot (gross, I know) was green and I knew I had a bad infection. I put Oregano, lemon and OnGuard oils in capsules and took those twice a day. I felt so much better after three days and the infection left within a week and a half and that was without antibiotics.

UTI: If you've ever had a UTI before, you know how yucky you feel. Again I put Oregano and lemon in capsules and drank OnGuard in water. The UTI was cleared up in three days and there was no burning after that. I knew it was a UTI because I have had them before. I love that I could use natural oils instead of harsh antibiotics.

Migraines or headaches: Once or twice a month I get migraines that send me to my bed and I have to have darkness or it throbs. DoTERRA has a great blend called PastTense and when I roll it on my temples, the relief is almost instantaneous.

There are TONS more miracles I have seen from using the oils, but it's time for this post to end.

Only THIS month, deTERRA is offering $100 in free oils when you spend $100. This is a fabulous deal and I don't know when the next promotion will be. If you sign up to be a consultant, you save 20% on the oils.

Smokin' Summer

The end of June, we moved to AZ with my mom. It has been SO hot here! I think I finally acclimated to Utah weather only to return to AZ and now just thinking of going outside gives me a sunburn. Of course as I say this, it's pouring rain outside, so the weather is perfect for me right now.

Here are some things Landon has enjoyed while we've been here:

Landon is happy, gloriously happy. Less hitting, less biting, less screaming, less whining - he's a completely different kid! He loves the backyard and being able to go outside without an adult because I can see him through the window. He has grown a few inches and gained weight since we've been here, and it's only been three weeks. Plus, he's been making us laugh like crazy! He does this wrinkly nose face that make me laugh out loud. Spending time with uncle Aaron is one of his favorite things to do. Aaron takes him in his car and it makes Landon's day every time.

Landon's jokes:

  • Someone at a wedding reception asked him his name, and he goes, "Jesus", and turned and walked away.
  • Whenever fun music comes on, he moves his bum all over the place and pumps his fists in the air. It's pretty hilarious to watch.
  • He calls popsicles "kuh kick el".
What he thinks is funny:
  • Getting in to the vaseline and wiping it all over his shirt.
  • Eating raw rice and dumping it all over the floor.
  • Dumping honey onto the counter and the floor.

Loved the rain.
He calls flipping pancakes "swishing".
Goofy face.

Some things I have enjoyed while I've been here:

Going to the temple with my mom. Seeing Aaron and spending time with him. Getting to know the ward here has been nice. Cleaning and organizing all my stuff has been nice only because I like making it look less messy! Job hunting has been fun - it's been a while since I haven't been my own boss. Applying for ASU's Master's Program of Music Therapy has been exciting. I won't be able to start school until the Spring but I love dreaming about it. Riding my bike on flat roads is AWESOME! Provo with it's curvy hills killed me when I rode my bike around.

We like living in Arizona and things are going great!
